What is EFT?

EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is probably the most powerful method to free ourselves from negative emotions that affect our spiritual as well as our physical balance, which result in stress, suffering and illnesses.

EFT was originally developed in 1995 by Gary Craig, a Stanford Engineer, an extraordinary human being that has been in a lifelong pursuit of personal and spiritual wellbeing, and has been a teacher and a mentor for many practitioners as well as for medical doctors that currently are liberating, worlwide, many people from their emotional blockings and subsequent illnesses.

Craig, not a psychology professional himself, was an early student of Thought Field Therapy (TFT) with Dr. Roger Callahan and later worked with him to devise what has been referred to as a "public-access" version of TFT. Emotional Freedom Techniques, or "EFT" is the result of this collaboration and Craig's ongoing research. Based on Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) principles of which Craig is a Certified Master Practitioner, Emotional Freedom Techniques are among the more prevalently recognized forms of Energy psychology.

This acupressure-based healing modality was pioneered by renowned chiropractor, George Goodheart, furthered by medical doctor John Diamond and Callahan himself and then, dramatically simplified and improved by Gary. With the initial aid of Adrienne Fowlie, Gart developed EFT and made the work elegant, efficient and affordable for almost anyone.

Further development of the original idea by Dr. Patricia Carrington, led to her powerful Choices addendum to EFT, where healthy belief changes often occur as the energy meridians come into balance. The abuse victim, for example, may experience a belief shift from "My father hates me" to the healthier, "Dad doesn't know how to love. He needs help and I choose to forgive and teach him how to love by loving him and myself." Along with this more positive and peaceful attitude that work as an antidote, physical symptoms often subside, as does emotional suffering.

Also, EFT's results are often long term. Properly done, the process most often does not need to be repeated.

Loosing the

bad food






It is sad: We are loosing the war against junk food and all its consequences: Diabetes, overweight, heart failure, cardiovascular problems, premature aging, etc.

If you haven't watch yet the documentary Super Size Me, it's probably a good idea to do so.

If we keep putting into our bodies huge amounts of toxins found in many kind of foods (including those you buy regularly in the supermarket), this pandemic affliction will not only continue, but it will aggravate in the years to come.

Trasgenic vegetables and fruits (called also GM or Genetically Modified food), as well as crops treated with chemicals are lacking most of the nutrients once associated with the treasures given us by Mother Nature.

The trans fat oils are, literally, poisonus to your heart and cardiovascular system (check this article from the American Heart Association). The majority of trans fat can be found in shortenings, stick (or hard) margarine, cookies, crackers, snack foods, fried foods (including fried fast food), doughnuts, pastries, baked goods, and other processed foods made with or fried in partially hydrogenated oils. Some trans fat is found naturally in small amounts in various meat and dairy products.

The FDA estimates that the average daily intake of trans fat in the U.S. population is about 5.8 grams or 2.6 percent of calories per day for individuals 20 years of age and older. And that's is, in the opinion of independent researchers, a number much lower and obsolete that the actual statistics.

And most people do not relate the food that they are eating with their stress and emotional problems. It is a known fact that a poor quality in the food, brings a lot of problems in the nervous systems and the toxins that come from food preservatives and artificial sweeteners travel freely and get to reach our brain, causing depression, insomnia, etc.

In our EFT sessions with people complaining and suffering from depression and stress, we have found that guiding them to change their diet, have a dramatic and beneficial impact in their well-being.

GUIDELINES TO
A BETTER
NOURISHMENT

Basically, you can start by taking out from your diet, the following items:

- Refined (white) sugar. Read the labels in the products you buy in the supermarket. It is well known that lots of sugar makes, for the big food companies, a huge difference in sales and revenues: The more sugar they put in their products, the most people will crave for them.This apply to beverages, meats, dairy products, breads and yes, whole wheat or rye bakery.
- Bread, cereals and pastas.. Eating fat does not make you fat. It's your body's response to excess carbohydrates in your diet that makes you fat. You see, your body has a quite limited capacity to store excess carbohydrates, but it can easily convert those excess carbohydrates into excess body fat. Here is the paradox: Why people are eating less fat and getting fatter? Unlees you are an anorexic supermodel, chances are that if you are still believing the trends of the health food frenzy of the 70's and 80's, you are overweight. No medical authority will tell you that excess body fat makes you healthier. There is but one alarming conclusion to reach: a high-carbohydrate, low-fat diet may be dangerous to your health. And if you are a woman, candidiasis proliferation has became part of your life. Cut out carbohydrates sources (including granola) and you will see how your mood and PMS starts to get better.
- Soy products. You will be amazed to learn that, in fact, the average consumption of soy foods in Japan and in China is... 10 grams! (about 2 teaspoons) per day. Asians consume soy foods as condiment and in very small amounts. They do not use it as replacement for animal foods. The list of problems caused by soy is so extensive that we rather suggest you to follow this link about the myths and truths about soy.
- Non-grass fed cattle meat and milk. In the last two years, IGF-I has been identified as the key factor in the growth and proliferation of various cancers including prostate cancer (Science - January, 1998), breast cancer (The Lancet - May, 1998), and lung cancer (Journal Of The National Cancer Institute - January, 1999). What have this to do with the meat and milk you get in your supermarket. Read Things That Went Moo in the Night and prepare to be outraged.
- Farm Bred Fish. Those poor animals are packed with RGH (growth hormone) to make them grow bigger at an early age so they can make more profits for their breeders. The consequences? Animal hormones in your body. Just as in milk and meat treated with the Monsanto stuff.

As we told you before, these are just general guidelines to improve your diet. Please, consult a skilled and informed nutritionist for a more personalized diet that suits your special requirements.

Many diets will reverse one condition in one person but have no effect, or even worsen the condition, in another person due to differences in metabolic biochemistry. Just as we all differ tremendously with respect to our outward physical appearance, we are also unique on an internal (biochemical and physiological) level: We all process foods and utilize nutrients differently. When you adopt a diet based on your specific needs and conditions, you will resolve most health disorders and achieve optimum health.



By simply tapping with your fingertips in a few and specific accupoints in your body, while stating the appropiate phrases in a emphatic and strong voice, you can remove ugly emotions that block the energy flow in your being.

This approach is simple... and efficient.

How does EFT work?




EFT AnalogyGary explains that when you experience any type of negative feelings or emotions, trauma, or even intrusive memories or nightmares, these disrupt the free flow of the energy running through your body. It becomes disrupted. It’s sort of like a TV set. Imagine taking a metal screwdriver and running it through all the electronic stuff in the TV. Doing so would disrupt the energy (electricity) that normally flows through it. As a result, you would hear static and see a distorted picture.

Emotional issues cause this same sort of “static” or disruption in your body’s natural energy flow, and when the energy is disrupted, physical problems can occur.

EFT takes away the emotional or traumatic 'metal screwdriver', thus allowing the energy flow naturally again.

EFT in a Nutshell

1) Identify and tune in to the problematic issue or pain you wish to address. Note your starting intensity (0-10),

2) The Set-Up. While tapping on the Karate Chop Point, repeat the following three times out loud, stating your physical or emotional pain as specifically as possible:

Even though I feel this (insert your issue here), I deeply and completely accept myself.

3) The Sequence: First, tap about 7 times on each of the accupoints in the graphic at the right, while stating your pain (the "reminder phrase"): This (your issue here).

4) Take a deep breath from your stomach to the top of your head! Hold for 7 seconds. Exhale.

5) Note your ending intensity (0-10): If above a 2, repeat the steps above, adding your choice with a positive affirmation as an antidote.

Even though I still have some of this (your issue here), I deeply and completely accept myself and I choose to (your positive feeling or affirmation) instead.

6) Perform a third round of EFT alternating the negative issue and the positive choice as you tap again the 7 accupoints.

7) Repeat until your intensity level is 0.

And What If EFT Seems Not to Work With Me?
